Created by two well-known local charities, The Hummingbird Project and The Bureau, we come together to celebrate the selfless efforts and positive impact made by these remarkable community champions.
Now in its second year, the Glossopdale Community Champions Awards, affectionately known as the ‘Gloscars’ (Glossop Oscars!), returned for the 2026 Grand Final on Saturday 3rd October 2026 at the Heart & Theatre, Glossopdale School.
There was amazing entertainment throughout the evening, including a performance from Fab Choir, Simon Groarke and Young Aerialists
We celebrated 16 Winners and 14 Highly Commended across 12 award categories, from Arts, Culture & Leisure to Young Person of the Year.
We also presented the Mayor’s Award, the Fi Nelson Fellowship Award, the Mayor’s Special Recognition Award and our Judges’ Choice Awards.
We had a grand total of 300 people at the event, including over 80 finalists!
The networking area, kindly provided by the Glossopdale Chronicle Media Group and the Glossopdale Business Network, gave guests plenty of opportunity to connect with other community-minded people
n The Heart, aswell as amazing refreshments from Perfect Platters kindly sponsored by Glossopdale Freemasons, over 20 local groups and charities also showcased their causes.
